Home Heat Pump Checklist Gas Furnace Checklist Cost Service & Repairs 90 day Guarantee

How much will it cost?

Our basic service charge is $80.00. In most cases, the service charge will cover the labor for the repair. If we cannot make an adequate repair for the $80.00 labor, we will provide you with a free estimate. You may elect to have us complete the repair at that time or, our estimates are valid for 90 days.

bulletParts are based on manufacturer suggested retail price.
bulletIf manufacturer pricing is not available, then the wholesaler suggested price will be used.
bulletParts prices vary widely depending on manufacturer, type of system, availability, and shipping charges.

The list below represents average estimates for the most common repairs. Please keep in mind however, that every system and situation is unique and costs will vary accordingly.

bulletThermostats
bulletYou can get one at Home Depot for about $30. If you wire it wrong, you can damage the thermostat and/or your equipment.
bulletThe most common thermostat we install is $125 plus labor.
bulletThey can cost as much as $450 for top of the line programming features.
bulletIndoor blower motor
bulletThe most common indoor motor call costs $170 for the motor and related parts plus labor.
bulletOutdoor motor
bulletOur most frequent summer repair is replacing the outdoor fan motor on a rooftop air conditioner. The motor is $156. There is a part called a capacitor, $4, that is always replaced with it. Tax is $14. Add the $80 labor and the total is $254.
bulletCompressors
bulletEstimate $1,000 minimum for parts and labor. There is a lot involved changing out a compressor.
bullet“Freon”
bulletAbout $15 per pound but if it leaks more than the EPA allows, the leak must be fixed and labor becomes more substantial.
bulletLegally, the days of "It just needs a little freon" are over. There are serious penalties for allowing freon to leak into the atmosphere.
bulletGas Valve
bulletThe valve itself is approximately $200 plus labor.
bulletHeating ignition
bulletIn winter, gas ignition modules are a fairly common trouble spot. Our favorite replacement is a Honeywell that lists for $232, and of course labor brings it to around $300.
bulletRelays / Contactors
bulletThese are only $30 or $40. With labor and tax, your total bill would be about $125.
bulletCircuit boards
bulletThe price for these is all over the board (no pun intended). We have some listed as high as $750 and as low as $31.
bulletMost commonly they run about $125.
